Working together since 2002, stijn&marie are specialised into transforming the usual into the unusual. They lived in LA from 2002 until 2008 and shot numerous pieces for American and European magazines including New York Times Magazine, ELLE, Preen and Graphic Magazine as well as advertising assignments for clients such as Air France, BMW, and Orange. In LA they also met Shirley, whose life they photographed in a series calles ‘Meeting Shirley”. The project went on to become highly regarded and well known throughout the international photography scene.
